Measuring Success in Your Dental Office!

What is success? How do you and your dental team define success? Do you know how to measure success in your dental practice? How do you know if you have it? What do you do with it once you have it? Some of us think of success as an elusive unicorn.  The truth is, most of us struggle with how to even define success. Take a moment to ponder this.  Is it having passion? Motivation? Determination?


Let’s take a moment to be objective and read the dictionary definition of success: The favorable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavors, the accomplishment of one’s goals.

Do you ever wonder what dental patients are thinking the moment they walk through the front doors of your dental office?  Do your patients experience the typical aroma of a dental office or have you and your dental team taken care of that with pleasant smelling candles or room fresheners?  The dental tour can be thought of as important as how guests are made to feel the first time they visit your home.  Are you making your dental office warm and inviting, as opposed to boring and routine?

What's the Value Proposition of your Dental Office?

What makes your Dental Office different and better than everyone else? Why should a potential dental patient choose your office?  What value does your dental practice offer to your patient that sets you apart from the dental competition? 


It doesn’t it have to be anything over the top, it can be something very simple. As the example in the AMP TV Show of dentist who had no normal office hours, he saw anyone at anytime. He was a great fit for the international business community, this is an example of how a doctor created his proposition by just thinking outside the box. What sets you apart from your competition? What do your patients see as value?
